War Missions (Additions concerning IL-2 in RED),(Additions concerning AH in PURPLE) (Corrections 310303 in GREEN) (Clarification 300708 in BLUE) A War Mission is a multiplayer game where you have a chance to record kills for LLv34 kill board. The main idea is to co-operate with your Laivue members, to stay alive and to keep your friends alive while recording kills for the board. The kill count of your current life decides your position on the board. If you die you start again from the bottom! To start a War Mission you need some enemies and a LLv34 wingman/men to confirm your kills. You have to tell your wingmen that you are about to fly a War Mission before you get airborne. It is also good to agree on somekind of flight plan, where to fly and what kind of loadout to use. You have to keep pen and paper handy so that you can record your own actions and confirm kills for other LLv34 pilots. Trainees can fly only training war missions (TrWM:s), which will not show on the kill boards, until they gain an active pilot status. War Missions take place partly independent of other pilots' War Missions. Sometimes you may be there just for a normal game and confirmation task while others fly War Missions or the other way around. During the fight you have to announce the kills you get, when and why your mission is over (landed, bailed out, ditched, crashed, etc). You also have to keep an eye on your wingmen to be able to confirm their announcements and to help them if they are in trouble. Missions always end when your plane and yourself are no longer moving for what ever reason. You can fly several mission in a row, but refueling and rearming always end the previous mission. Before you take off again, you have to announce your next mission if you intend to fly one. After the mission has ended you have to make a report of your War Mission and write confirmations of other pilots' actions. Reports are written in appropriate War Mission database and a summary of confirmations is added in the end of each report. Reports and Confirmations are read by HQ and if necessary further details will be asked. After reports have been stamped, they get added to Flight logs on Pilot Pages. Kill Boards also gets updated accordingly. Following abbreviations are used in the rules: -War Mission = WM -Confirming Pilot = CoP -Artificial Intelligence (controlled by the game) = AI -Anti Aircraft (fire) = AA -Aces High = AH Any plane manned by a HUMAN (not AI) pilot on enemy's side is a valid target for a WM. All LLv34 pilots are always required to fly on the same side to prevent anyone becoming involved in someone's WM as an enemy. Any plane that is on the ground and not moving at all is not a valid target! NOTE!: All planes, vehicles and AA-fire can cause losses to you if you have a WM going on! This includes all AI fire and also friendly pilots!!! AH killshooter damage (from your own guns because of hitting friendly planes) is considered as AA-fire Kills can be achieved ONLY during WMs and ONLY from enemies that are valid targets. All kills have to be confirmed. A Kill is recorded when the targeted enemy loses his plane as a result of:
Kills may be shared between two pilots. (e.g. 1st pilot damages the engine, 2nd shoots the tail and causes a spin and a crash. Thus 1/2 kill to both!) A shared kill can be awarded only to:
To begin a War Mission ALL following conditions must be met:
Mission ends when you have completely stopped. This means that if you are killed e.g. on the runway, re-arming pad or after bail-out and safe landing on ground it does not concern your WM anymore. If you are planning to bail out or ditch, tell your CoP immediately so that he can protect you and confirm the end of your mission. If the CoP loses visibility to the WM pilot he should try to get back to that pilots visibility as soon as possible if the WM pilot wants to continue his WM. Naturally also the WM pilot should try to get back towards the CoP to be able to continue his WM. When the mission has ended there are different kind of consequences."Today" in concequences is defined according to WM starting moment in Finnish time (GMT+2). "Success" or "Uneventful"= "You have returned to base and can fly more missions today if you want to." "Malfunction"= "You returned to base because you had a defective plane." (Your plane is so badly damaged that you cannot fly anymore WMs with that plane type, G-2 or G-6, for the rest of the day. Exception: If your last confirming wingman got disconnected ((or if "malfunction" was caused by arena or server reset)), your plane can be fixed right away.) "Ditched" or "Bailed Out"= "You have survived your mission but your plane is lost. You will have to wait for a new plane." (You can fly NO more War Missions today. You can fly and confirm kills for others though!) "Missing"= "No-one knows what happened to you." (Same as "Killed") "Killed"= "You have given the highest sacrifice for the Fatherland." (Your current career has ended. You can start a new career tomorrow. You can fly NO more War Missions today. You can fly and confirm kills for others though!) Before the mission begins you should write down WM numbers and plane types for yourself and others. During the flight you should write down kills, types of enemy planes and other specific events. After the mission it is good to write some notes of what happened if you dont go to the database right away. Write and submit your report and confirmations to the database as soon as you can. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
