Nov 27th 1999, Maj BlauKreuz

Gentlemen!

Exactly 1 year ago Koff called a meeting to discuss founding the squadron and BlauKreuz, Jarski and Camouflage came to his office after work. We talked a lot of everyone's RB2 experiences and went through some historical material and decided on several details. Thus Lentolaivue 34 was founded!

After that day our Laivue has grown bot in size, skill and reputation. During this year we have had 24 pilots. At the moment we have 14 active pilots and 3 trainees. 4 pilots are in the reserve and 3 pilots have resigned. We are 5 times larger than in the beginning... and that is quite enough if all keep sending WM-reports at current rate ;)

Our regular training sessions began on Jan 13th and since then we have had 46 training sessions. No wonder that we have mastered the 109s that belong among the most difficult, but also so enjoyable, planes in EAW.

Even though we have only 14 pilots in active service, at most nights many of us are present at Zone. I dare to say that we are one of the most active EAW squadrons.. maybe even the most active when considering our number of pilots.

Gentlemen... I am proud of this squadron.. I am proud of all our pilots. None of us knows what our 2nd year brings along, but what ever it is, I am sure Lentolaivue 34 will prevail!

Let us raise three "HURRAA" shouts for the Laivue!
