Kill Confirmation Rules v1.2

The War Missions
(Red parts updated September 6th), (additions Sep 7th),(additions Nov 20th)

  • The Idea

A War Mission is a multiplayer game where you have a chance to record kills for LLv34 kill board. The main idea is to co-operate with your Laivue members, to stay alive and to keep your friends alive while recording kills for the board. The kill count of your current life decides your position on the board. If you die you start again from the bottom!

To start a War Mission you need some enemies and a LLv34 wingman/men to confirm your kills. You have to tell your wingmen about a mission before it begins and also name possible enemies who cannot be targets in your mission. You have to keep pen and paper handy so that you can record your own actions and confirm kills for other LLv34 pilots.

War Missions take place partly independent of other pilots' War Missions. Your targets can be also targets to someone else or they can be targets to you while they are not valid to others. One pilot can have his mission end while others still have theirs going on. Sometimes you may be there just for a normal game and confirmation task while others fly War Missions or the other way around.

During the fight you have to announce the kills you get, when and why your mission is over (no more targets, landed, bailed, etc). You also have to keep an eye on your wingmen to be able to confirm their announcements and to help them if they are in trouble. When there are no more active missions going on in the game it can continue as just a normal game as long as you like. Kills and losses in your part are meaningless after your War Mission has ended.

After the game has ended you have to make a report of your War Mission and write confirmations of other pilots' actions. Reports should be written with the WM Report Form at the URL made known to you and a summary of confirmations is added in the end. The reports will be added to Pilot's Flight Log at pilot pages after confirmations are received and the Kill Board will be updated accordingly.

  • Valid Targets:

Any HUMAN (not AI) pilot outside of LLv34 can be a valid target for a War Mission. In team fights, the visiting pilots in our team cannot be targets. (In case of treachery they can be shot down, but no kills can be scored)

You can score (full or partial kill) only once against the same enemy pilot during one day! "Killed" enemy will not be a valid target until the next day!!! The day change occurs to all pilots at 24:00 Finnish time (GMT+2).

A target is no longer valid in this WM but remains valid to you for the next WM if you have not scored against him and:
    1. He lands.
    2. He bails out, ditches or crashes without any actions from your part.
    3. He leaves the game or gets disconnected.
    4. He gets "killed" and the full credit goes to someone else.
A target is no longer valid to you for the rest of the day when ANY of the following occurs:
    1. You get a full or partial kill on him.
    2. You ditch, bail out, get wounded, killed or disconnected (=including you leaving the game under compelling reasons).
    3. The War Mission ends for other reasons.
NOTE!: All planes can cause losses to you if you have a War Mission going on! (This includes non-valid, AI and friendly pilots!!!)
It is good to have your wingmen help and commit to such enemies that are not targets to you, if they can.

  • Kills

Kills can be achieved ONLY during War Missions ONLY from enemies that are valid targets.

A Kill is recorded when the targeted enemy loses his plane as a result of:
    1. getting shot by you. (pilot kill, explosion or severe structural damage to the plane... eg. loss of a wing)
    2. bailing out of his plane while being pursued by you. (includes an enemy leaving the game when his engine is completely destroyed or his tail has been shot off)
    3. evading (,spinning) and crashing or ditching while being pursued by you.
The kill does not need to be recorded by the game if other pilots can confirm it!

Kills may be divided between two or more pilots. (e.g. 1st pilot damages the engine, 2nd shoots the tail and causes a spin and 3rd pilot shoots the spinning plane and makes it explode. Thus 1/3 kill to all!)

A part of a kill can be awarded only to:
    1. pilots who are still engaged in a fight with the enemy target at the time of the kill.
    2. pilots who have caused visible damage (smoking engine or pieces coming apart) to target and have disengaged the enemy before another pilot finishes the kill.
You have to agree on the division right after the kill happens. Getting a part of a kill on enemy target makes the enemy non-valid for you and may thus also end your WM.

  • Mission Start, End and Results

To begin a War Mission ALL following conditions must be met:
    1. The game is played with maximum reality settings.
    2. There is at least 1 valid enemy target in the game. (LLv34 pilots can NOT be enemies)
    3. There is at least 1 other LLv34 pilot in the game to confirm your kills. (The other pilots can but are not required to have a mission of their own)
    4. You have informed the participating LLv34 pilots of your mission number(#) and of the valid and not valid targets before the game begins. Thus they will be able to follow your kills and to confirm them.
    5. You are flying a Messerschmitt 109 or Hurricane.
    6. You have not had such mission results today which prohibit you to fly another War Mission!
It is preferable to have the game hosted by a LLv34 member to ensure the correct settings.
    Recommended settind for WMs are:
    1. Total mayhem with 6 or less pilots, agreed teams. (Mysterious respawn explosions are a high risk!)
    2. Fighter Sweep, AllowRespawn=0, NoAi=1. (AI pilots may still be there depending on team sizes and selected planes.)
    3. Weather=clear, Region=channel (To reduce lag on slower computers)
Your War Mission ends only when ANY of following occurs (***the result you get***):
    1. All valid targets have been shot down or driven away from the sky (at least 1 enemy has been shot down!) and you are still flying. (***success***)
    2. You or all other LLv34 pilots are disconnected or have left the game, or there are no valid targets left and no kills have been scored against the enemy. (***lost contact***)
    3. You land your plane successfully. (***landed***)
    4. You ditch your plane and stay alive. This means landing without landing gear opened. In a successful ditch the game does not record losses for you. (***ditched***)
    5. You bail out from your plane and your parachute opens. (***bailed out***)
    6. Your plane crashes or explodes before you can bail out or the pilot is hit. (***killed***)
    7. If your death is caused by a game bug related explosion you can plead wounded. HQ needs to approve your report. This does not include lag related collisions. (***wounded***)
After your mission ends you can get no more recorded kills or suffer losses but the game still continues. The other LLv34 pilots may still have their missions on and you are needed to confirm their kills and to help them if they are in trouble (..if you have been able to get respawned).

  • Result Consequences

When the mission has ended there are different kind of consequences.

Success= "You have succeded in your mission and killed or driven away all enemies. They may have survived though and you may meet them another day."
(The enemies you scored on are not valid targets to you until tomorrow.)

Lost Contact= "You have lost contact to your enemies and friends and head back to base."
(Your valid targets remain valid if they or your confirmers left or got disconnected. If you left or got disconnected those targets are not valid untill tomorrow.)

Landed= "You have brought your plane down succesfully. After your plane is fixed and reloaded you can get back up there. You may even meet previous enemies."
    (Valid targets remain valid.)

Ditched/Bailed Out= "You have survived your mission but your plane is lost. You will have to wait for a new plane."
(You can fly NO more War Missions today. You can fly and confirm kills for others though!)

Wounded= "You meet the ground violently but miraculously suffer only minor damages."
(You can fly NO more War Missions today. You can fly and confirm kills for others though!)

Killed= "You have given the highest sacrifice for the Fatherland."
(Your current life has ended. You can start a new life tomorrow. You can fly NO more War Missions today. You can fly and confirm kills for others though!)

  • Report and Confirmations

Try to write down as much info as possible before the mission begins and fill in the rest as soon as you can after your mission ends. Remember to keep track of your own and others' mission numbers. Write and send your report with form at URL provided to you.

    A Mission report contains:

Report of the battle. What happened, in which order, and to whom. How did the War Mission end?
    Confirmations:
