Most decorated pilot during the period was Moska who recieved IMR for shooting down 5 enemy planes in AH, and a bar on it for becoming an ace in IL2 as well. He also recieved VM2, VM1 and VR4 for distinguished service and outstanding WM results. Moska's record is sure exemplary for us all, presently showing 46,5 kills in 68 missions without a single loss of life. S!

In early May 2003 the 4 of our swedish pilots visited Finland and toured the appropriate aviation museums and met lots (16) of finnish squadron members. During this trip we got the new record of 13 LLv34 pilots in one place at same time. Read more about this trip on our general message board.

In the end of June Ylil Snefens also visited Finland and participated in Mosquito Meeting 2003 at Taivalkoski in Northern Finland with 9 finnish squadron members. MM is something that can be recommended to all of our members - A great chance to meet other LLv34 pilots.

The FB patch is near and expectations are high. I think it's not a wild guess that activity among our FB pilots will rise quite considerably the coming month. Keep those WM:s coming!

Website facelift

The ages long project is at last over. All five databases are finally working. Now we have all pilot information in one database, all sims have their own WM database and pilot careers for the killboards are all gathered in one database. This means that the every day squadron functions can be shared and no html skills are required :) In the future possibly this news section and links for bbs and webpages will also work that way.

Training WMs were begun in advance so that real WMs could start pouring on the killboards on this date. So far only one pilot has fulfilled this duty. Others will soon be in a hurry.

IL-2 is soon to be patched seriously and it will likely re-awaken intrest. AH has got new versions steadily and our switch back to Rooks on Apr 3rd will once again offer new challenges.

Many positions and tasks in our roster are currently open. On th eother hand the trainee section is over full. During next few weeks a lot of work will have to be done by each and every one to correct this situation.

Winter, 2002

Quiet Winter

IL-2 came with the winter, much was expected and pretty much delivered as well. Still some issues gradually turned down the intrest. A few pilots have chosen take a break and even though many recuits have signed in, they have not been able to pass their training. Amount of Aces High pilots also went down when IL-2 came out. Some have returned though and a few fly both sims. A few pilots have also participated in IL-2 IOW war with good success. Fortunately the spring and more favourable flying weathers are coming.

New trainees are Aati, Gunther, Mahei, JussiK and Dictonius. Welcome Gents!

The last week of 1944 had 109g interdict vs spit9 missions. Rumors tell that LLv34 is the fright of British truck drivers ;-) Laivue was the best scoring squadron with the total of 1137.50 points and score difference of +797.50. Great work!

1944 is now over. LLv34 was the best scoring squadron of all in 1944! We have a score difference of +2142.50 and the second best squadron has a score difference of +190! Our squadron rules the skies!!! An impressive victory!

January 7th, 2001

War news

LLv34 was the best scoring squad in the first week of 1944. At the moment our squadron is the second best squad over all and we have the best score difference. LLv34 pilots are the only axis pilots who have a positive score difference this week!

December 24th, 2000

X-mas war news

LLv34 was by far the best scoring axis squadron in the spit9 vs 109g sweep week and had the best score difference of all axis squads in 1943, the probably hardest weeks for our side.

December 14th, 2000

War news

Our WAR results have been very good. We have scored 205.5 kills in 1940 and 110 kill in 1943 so far. Our best week was the Bf109-E4 vs Spitfire MK1a. We flew 48 mission and scored 900 points while the enemies scored scoring 160 points. That is a plus of 740 points, the best result of all squadrons.

November 27th, 2000

2nd Aniversary

Two years have passed since out squadron was founded. While the CO was busy elsewhere, Kapt Camouflage had prepared a short speech for the official ceremonies. Several birthday missions were flown during the day. Quite many reports were lost, but that is quite natural considering the party :) Kersantti Knegel was most active pilot in these missions and also scored most of the kills. Many pilots also had connection troubles... maybe too much champange.

For his continued commitment to LLv34 and 1st Lentue and good results in WAR Ylikersantti Hock was promoted to the rank of Vääpeli. Ylikersantti Mika received VM2 for his active service in LLv34 and 2nd Lentue and for good WAR results. T! Gents.

October 1st, 2000

Ltn Nattulv rejoined LLv34 for another volunteer tour after his visit to Luftwaffe and was re-assigned as CO of 2nd Lentue.

April 17th, 2000

New Pilot, AOW began

We got a trainee, our first Frenchman, Alikersantti Doc. Welcome to laivue!

HQ has been quite busy lately and a lot of WM paperwork has piled on my desk. Sorry, but it will still have to wait until things quiet down a bit... be patient ;)

All Out War has began. Dolfo has shown great example and taken the initiative in this War. All active pilots are encouraged to enlist on this front as well. AOW has a nice automated record keeping, so you will see your stats much faster than in our normal WM:s. If you want to, you can still fly WM:s at the same time with OAW missions. If you fly some sweeps there, you can still fly one of them as a WM.

March 16th, 2000

All War Mission reports from this day on should include all the non-valid enemies and all wingmen on each mission. Fill in the additional info in proper places.

Updates & over 1000 Kills!!!

The next stats were much easier to do :) Some errors in the kill board got fixed as well.

What also became apparent was the LLv34 kill total... 1014 enemies shot down in 1355 missions. The historical 1000th kill had happened on Jan 7th in a mission flown by Kers WoodenFog and Kers Hock. New Ace, Birthday Mission Results

Kersantti Hock became "ÄSSÄ" and received IMR after his fourth War Mission. Good work! Our Laivue has produced 16 Aces so far, that is 2/3 of all the pilots. 12 are now in active service, 3 in reserve and 1 has retired.

On Nov 27th we flew no War Missions. A special concept of Bithday Missions was in use. LLv34 pilots were allowed to fly only Me109G-6 or Hurricane against any and all enemy planes. Participation suffered a bit because that day was Saturday and Zone was also acting weirdly once again and failing to start games later in the evening. Six pilots reported Bday Missions... here is a summary of the results.

November 30th, 1999

Tranfers

Alik Hock finished his training and got promoted to the rank of Kersantti. Kers Hock was assigned in active duty in the 1st Lentue. Vääp Adlerson was transfered to reserve. Hope to see your computer problems solved and you back in active service in the future.

In the process both achieved miri 30 and Smuli also reached seri 100 while Mokkeri got seri 50. Congratz, excellent work!

War rules were tried for the first time and the whole process will still require more work. Be patient and put in your share of testing. War Board is now linked on top of our MB. Remember to register to EZ-board.

May 15th, 1999

Sad days, Achievement

Both our top aces Jarski and Fernstrom were lost on a same mission. Jarski got rammed in a ditching attempt and Fern suffered a pilot hit. They were facing an organized squadron patrol of Spit IXC:s while flying G6:s. Valiant attempt and a good career for both of them. T!

Testing the Me109F-4 showed it to be some more agile and faster plane than E-4, but the adversary, Spit Vb, seems to be closer to IXC than to Ia. This patch had been tested off-line when trying to find the balance between F4 and Vb. Thing seem different on-line. Until/unless things chance, we are facing more trouble. EVERY PILOT have to pay more attention to co-op with his wingman now!

Vääpeli Snefens achieved mission ribbon 20.

May 10th, 1999

Ribbon, New Planes

Luutnantti Koff achieved service ribbon 25.

1942 patch has brought us new planes. Me109F-4 and Hurricane II. LLv34 historically tested one captured HC II for a short time. F-4 is also a bit closer to G-2 which was used before G-6:s. Downloading this new patch is highly encouraged.

Achievements

Ylikersantti Adlerson achieved Service Ribbon 25 and Vänrikki Koff achieved Service Ribbon 10. Adlerson has kept himself alive and at the top position quite some days already. The real LLv34 achieved 345 kills between Jan 19th 1943 and Sept 9th 1944 while losing only 30 planes (of which 18 in battle) and only 12 pilots (+1 as POW)!!! We still have some improving to do if we want to match the history :)

February 10th, 1999

Another loss, Promotions, Awards

We lost Kersantti Strix on his 14th War Mission. He was also killed in a collision with an enemy fighter. Strix achived 10½ kills in his career. Looks like it is kind of "windy" at the top of our kill board. ;)

New Pilot, new plans?

Our Laivue grows again. Welcome our first Danish voluntary Kersantti Snefens. He will be serving in the 2nd Lentue.

Enemy activity is increasing. The situation between AAF 8th and JG54 is about to spread into a full scale WAR and EAF has openly declared that they will continue to violate our borders and cause these little skirmishes we've experienced lately.

Prepare yourselves for the possibility of WAR!.

January 21st, 1999

Kill Board

Our Kill Board and rules for kill confirmations were published on Jan 20th. Some pilots went out to try the rules right away after Laivue Meeting. Pilot history part will be added on pilot pages as soon as you send in your first mission reports. Do not forget the confirmations either!!

Many links were also updated.

Laivue Meetings are held on regular basis at Kali #137 on Wednesdays at 17:00 GMT. Have your ICQ on for backup.

January 5th, 1999

New Year brings a new pilot, new plans and a new server for Kali

Drafting Board has sent us our first Finnish conscript. Welcome to our Laivue and to the 3rd Lentue Kersantti The SainT from Seinäjoki.

The planning of rules for a Kill Board is under way... be patient and practice :)

There is also a new server at Kali, #181 ->WWII Sims. I guess we'll find most EAW pilots hanging around there pretty soon!

December 31st, 1998

New Pilot and message board update

A new pilot got accepted to 2. Lentue. He has earlier belonged to some so far less active EAW squadrons on Allied side. Welcome to LLv34, Kersantti Nattulv from Sweden!

Our message board now has links to some other EAW message boards... Military Intelligence at its best :) There are also new squadron links on the Links page.

December 15th, 1998

We got two new pilots today. They are both Scandinavian voluntaries and will be serving in 1. Lentue under Vänrikki Koff's command.

Welcome aboard Kersantti Strix from Sweden and Kersantti Adlerson from Norway!

December 8th, 1998

Web Pages

Corrected some mistakes on pages and added more squadron links. The EAW webring does not seem to function correctly yet... we'll see.

Our message board received several greetings from other squadrons the very 1st day it was published :) Some may have even noticed a Finnish 1-word message on the board. This kind of meaningless messages wont stay there long, even if they are spirited or funny.

December 7th, 1998

Web Pages

These pages were published. It surely took me long enough to get the job done. Life was just a bit too buzy fo a while. Now I will be able to start paying more attention to the main thing - flying !

Kapt. LLv34_BlauKreuz

November 27th, 1998

The Meeting

Koff called a meeting to discuss founding the squadron and BlauKreuz, Jarski and Camouflage came to his office after work. We talked a lot of everyone's RB2 experiences and went through some historical material and decided on several details. Thus Lentolaivue 34 was founded! LLv34 was picked mainly because it was the 1st Finnish squadron to fly Me 109. It also had a captured Hurricane IIA for a short period of time. So we can use two different planes of EAW to retain the almost right historical atmosphere.

...we just wish those planes were paintable :)

October 17th, 1998

The Plan

BlauKreuz and Koff met eye to eye just by accident. We happened to attend the same Army Reserve refresher course. The night at Soldier's Canteen was full of talk of common acquaintances at RB2 and of plans to form a squadron for EAW.

Fall of 1998

The very Begining

We met playing Red Baron II at WON. After hearing some rumors and visiting the web pages of the soon-to-come flight sim EAW the idea of a Finnish squadron was born.
