The squadron log of November surely is a story of great success! No less than 40 kills (all AH) have been credited to the squadron during the 20 missions (all AH) that was flown during the month. All this was made without loss (one Mersu ditched on the runway but was soon made flyable again)! Pilot of the month is Kapt Jarski, who added a staggering 18,5 kills to his score. S!
October In October 5 missions have been flown (3 FB/2 AH), during which 1 enemy plane has been shot down by Yliv Dictonius (AH). September Our operations during September resulted in 6.5 kills in 18 missions (all FB). Own losses were 4 pilots killed/missing. Highest scorer this month was Ylik Lehto with 2.5 kills.
August During the vicious air battles fought during August, our brave pilots have shot down 19.5 (5 AH/14.5 FB) enemy planes in 33 missions (4 AH/29 FB). With this astonishing tally, Kapt Jarski now holds the official record as the highest scoring pilot in the squadron. Salute! Three missions (all AH) was flown during June resulting in 2 enemy planes shot down.

The squadron's log for the month shows 10 missions flown (FB) resulting in 6 enemy planes shot down for the loss of one Mersu! With 2,5 kills added to his stats, Maj Camouflage is the most successful pilot this month. S!
April Due to almost non-existing enemy activity only one mission was flown during April. However, the intel reports that several squadrons of Pe 2:s are being massed up close to the front. This could be the quiet before the storm, so let's stay alert and ready!
March Since the enemy seems to be busy elsewhere only 3 missions were flown during March. No kills were scored, one Mersu was written off...
February action The war diary of February shows 9 missions flown on all fronts (2 AH/ 7 FB) in which a total of 11,5 kills have been scored (9 AH/ 2,5 FB). Noteworthy is a mission flown on Feb 18th when Yliv JussiK and Dictonius wreaked havoc upon the enemy, piling up a staggering 9 kills together (Jussik 5 kills, giving him the "Pilot of the month" title this month, and Dicto 4). The fact that 7 of these kills were thick-skinned IL-2:s makes the acheivement even more remarkable! Well done gentlemen! S! Stunning success makes it a bit easier to speak about losses. Total 3 Mersus were shot down by the enemy during the period, 2 taking the pilots with them to eternity. May they rest in peace.

We also suffered losses as 5 of our pilots were killed or missing and 11 Mersus were written off. Finally we welcome our newest pilot, Kersantti Vispe, who successfully finished his pilot training and began flying operationally in the closing months of 2005. Good luck in your career in virtual LLv34!
December During the closing month of the year 27 WM:s were flown (8 AH/19 FB). In these encounters 27,5 enemy planes were shot down (18,5 Ah/ 9 FB) without a single loss of our own. The pilot with the highest streak and thus winner of the "pilot of the month" title in December was Ltn Flanker with 9 kills. Noteworthy was also Vääp Kaitsu's achievement on the 10th of December when he downed six (!) enemy planes in a single mission in AH. Way to go gentlemen! S!
November November was a quiet and peaceful month at the front. During the two missions that have been flown (both AH), three enemy planes were shot down. We suffered no own losses. Vääpeli JussiK is pilot of the month with his two kills. S!

A day to note in particular is the 15th of August when two of our pilots - Kers Stafro and Kers Hunter - spread disaster in the enemy lines shooting down 17 planes! For their accomplishments this day both of these brave airmen were decorated. Very well done gentlemen S! Own losses during August were considerably small - one pilot was lost and three Mersus were written off.
July - New Mannerheim Knight! During July 52 WM:s have been flown (8 AH/ 44 FB) and in which 25 aerial victories have been acheived (7 AH/ 18 FB). The big happening of the month is that Kapt Jarski, as the third pilot in virtual LLv34, have been awarded the Mannerheim cross second class, this after shooting down 66 enemy planes. SALUTE! Pilot of the month is Kers Hunter, with a score of 9,5 kills in 10 missions. The 8:th of July he became ace in a day when shooting down 6,5 enemy planes. T! Sadly, LLv34 have also suffered losses, as 5 planes have been destroyed and 3 of our pilots killed.

Ace of the month is once again Maj Camouflage with 6 confirmed victories. S!alute. March. Increase in enemy activity After a couple of quite months over the front line, enemy air activity have increased considerably during March. LLv 34 have responded decisively to the onslaught shooting down a total of 43,5 (23 FB/20,5 AH) enemy aircraft in 68 missions (53 FB/15 AH). However, losses have been high; 12 of our Mersus have been destroyed and 7 pilots have given the ultimate sacrifice for the Fatherland. The most successful FB career this far came to a tragic end as Luutn Flanker was killed on his 51 mission. During this remarkable career he succeeded in shooting down 39 enemy aircraft! SALUTE! Upon the killed pilots also one of our airmen was reported missing. The most distinguished pilot of the month is Maj Camouflage with a score of 9,5 kills (6,5 FB/3 AH) in 6 missions. T!

January - Month of Training and Education January has been a month of training, and since quite many of our active pilots are busy in courses (RUK, AUK), war mission flying has been quite scarce during the month. A total of 8 missions (5 FB/3 AH) have been flown during the first month of 2004, resulting in 9 kills (6 FB/3 AH). Own losses in January were one killed pilot. Highest scoring pilot was Ltn. Flanker with 3,5 kills in 3 missions. S!
December - Ace race! A new year has begun and it's time to sum up December - an extraordinary pleasant task indeed, since the last month of 2003 ends with a score not seen since EAW days! During December 78 enemy planes have been wiped out of the skies, compared to a loss of 12 own aircraft destroyed and two pilots killed. This month our AH pilots really have shown what stuff they are made of, flying 49 out of 59 missions and shooting down 75 out of 78 enemy planes. S! The undisputed top ace this month is Kapt Jarski with stunning 43 kills in 18 missions! His tally is now 59 kills, and thus he has snatched the top place on the AH killboard. S!plendid!
November and Squadron's 5:th anniversary! During autumn the squadron activity has risen every month. November is not an exception. Our pilots flew a total of 74 war missions! The amount of missions was very evenly spread in both sims; 38 AH/36 FB. During these missions 54 enemy aircraft were shot down (36AH/18 FB) with loss of 11 planes and 3 pilots! On top of the killboard for November are Kapt Jarski and Ylik Cougar, both with 10 kills. Salute gentlemen!

August action summary, New FB Ässä Summer is over and hopefully all of you have had a pleasant vacation. Despite the wonderful weather our struggle against the red horde has raged on in the virtual skies...
A year of expansion Gentlemen! It's been 15 months since last update and much have happened so let's go straight to business.
Website facelift The ages long project is at last over. All five databases are finally working. Now we have all pilot information in one database, all sims have their own WM database and pilot careers for the killboards are all gathered in one database. This means that the every day squadron functions can be shared and no html skills are required :) In the future possibly this news section and links for bbs and webpages will also work that way.
Quiet Winter IL-2 came with the winter, much was expected and pretty much delivered as well. Still some issues gradually turned down the intrest. A few pilots have chosen take a break and even though many recuits have signed in, they have not been able to pass their training. Amount of Aces High pilots also went down when IL-2 came out. Some have returned though and a few fly both sims. A few pilots have also participated in IL-2 IOW war with good success. Fortunately the spring and more favourable flying weathers are coming.
3rd Aniversary Our third anniersary was celebrated with traditional toasts ans speeches. (More thorough report later)
Retirement, Transfers, New Pilots, Promotions Summer is long gone and November and IL-2 fast approaching. Luutnantti Nattulv left us after a long, honorable and successful service career. 2nd Aniversary Two years have passed since out squadron was founded. While the CO was busy elsewhere, Kapt Camouflage had prepared a short speech for the official ceremonies. Several birthday missions were flown during the day. Quite many reports were lost, but that is quite natural considering the party :) Kersantti Knegel was most active pilot in these missions and also scored most of the kills. Another top loss, Awards Vänrikki Jarski held the top position of our Kill Board for a while. He got killed in a head-on collision with enemy. Now it looks like Ylik. Adlerson is the next in line ;) Hang in there tight...

New Pilot, new plans? Our Laivue grows again. Welcome our first Danish voluntary Kersantti Snefens. He will
be serving in the 2nd Lentue.

on pilot pages as soon as you send in your first mission reports. Do not forget the confirmations
either!!
New Year brings a new pilot, new plans and a new server for Kali Drafting Board has sent us our first Finnish conscript. Welcome to our Laivue

New Pilot and message board update A new pilot got accepted to 2. Lentue. He has earlier belonged to some so far less active
EAW squadrons on Allied side. Welcome to LLv34, Kersantti Nattulv from Sweden!
New Pilots We got two new pilots today. They are both Scandinavian voluntaries and will be serving in
1. Lentue under Vänrikki Koff's command.
Web Pages Corrected some mistakes on pages and added more squadron links. The EAW webring does not seem
to function correctly yet... we'll see.
Web Pages These pages were published. It surely took me long enough to get the job done. Life was just a bit too buzy fo a while.
Now I will be able to start paying more attention to the main thing - flying !
The Meeting Koff called a meeting to discuss founding the squadron and BlauKreuz, Jarski and Camouflage came to his office after work.
We talked a lot of everyone's RB2 experiences and went through some historical material and decided on several details.
Thus Lentolaivue 34 was founded! LLv34 was picked mainly because it was the 1st Finnish squadron to fly Me 109. It also had
a captured Hurricane IIA for a short period of time. So we can use two different planes of EAW to retain the almost right historical atmosphere.
The Plan BlauKreuz and Koff met eye to eye just by accident. We happened to attend the same Army Reserve refresher course. The night at Soldier's Canteen was full of talk of common acquaintances at RB2 and of plans to form a squadron for EAW.
The very Begining We met playing Red Baron II at WON. After hearing some rumors and visiting the web pages of the soon-to-come flight sim EAW the idea of a Finnish squadron was born. |
